Ideas on What to Do with Your Empty Garage

There are many circumstances which can cause you to no longer own a car. Whatever they are they all result in one thing – an empty garage.

If you spend more time than you care to admit standing in the empty space reminiscing about the vehicle which once resided there, below are some great ideas to consider to change the space into something a little more useful.

Who Doesn’t Love a Man Cave ?

Well, the person who has to clean one, I imagine. But in all seriousness, a garage makes a great man cave space because it already has a masculine feel to it. If you like the idea of this, consider getting the following:

  • A few couches (one which opens to a bed)
  • A big screen television
  • Gaming console/Media Center
  • Poster of your favorite sports team or player

Of course, if you have any other ideas that you want to add then be sure to include them in your design plans!

A Craft or a Sewing Room

If you don’t like the idea of something so masculine then you could go the complete another way with a space designed especially for craft-based activities.

If you like this idea then now is the time to unpack all of those boxes with sewing machines and craft supplies in the attic into your new space and really see what you’ve got. Once you have everything laid out, consider what you will need to complete each project, for example:

  • A sewing table
  • A comfortable chair
  • A large table to interact with fabric and spread your projects out
  • A couch to rest on
  • TV/Radio/Some form of entertainment
  • Closet/Storage for your supplies

A Home Gym

If you are looking for something in the middle which everybody in the home can enjoy then a home-gym is a great idea. However, instead of the minimalist idea of a single treadmill in the middle of the space, consider the setup of your local gym and include items such as:

  • A machine which can offer you a range of exercises
  • An area to stretch and warm up/cool down
  • A cold space to keep your drinks
  • Somewhere to hang a towel
  • Closet space to keep your gear and equipment
  • Entertainment such as a TV or music to keep you going

A Home Business

Of course, if you are looking to make the space more productive then setting up a home-office is a great idea, especially given a large amount of space your garage likely affords.

When looking for office equipment, steer away from stores which focus their business towards businesses as their prices are likely to be high. Instead, take advantage of a brylane home coupon from Groupon Coupons and order your furnishing online. Whether it’s office chairs, desks, or any other office accessory, voucher platforms like Groupon are a great way to make the most of your renovation budget.

If you find yourself in the position of looking at an empty garage, the above are great ideas on …
