Ford Motor is one of the most iconic automakers in American history; the company has played a vital role in the automotive industry, even revolutionizing the assembly line process and it’s the producer of the much loved Mustang pony car. It’s no surprise that the brand has made lots of appearances in some of the most popular movies.
One of the most popular teen hits of all time and of my personal favorite shows, “The OC” features an appearance by the Fusion. The Fusion is a family sedan that offers great mileage and a fun drive. The best part is that it’s reasonably priced with a base cost of around $20k. The Escape is a small SUV with a roomy interior, good crash results and an optional six cylinder that pits out 240 hp. The Escape is priced at around the $21k range and if it’s good enough for a secret agent then it’s more than good enough for the rest of us.
The biggest Hollywood star in the Ford line is the Mustang muscle car. She’s the gorgeous pony car with sleek curves and a ton of power under the hood with more than 500 television and movie appearances including the blockbuster “I am Legend”, “Gone In Sixty Seconds” and “Diamonds Are Forever”. The sweet Mustang made its film debut in the classic 007 flick movie “Goldfinger”. Ford provided the production with a large variety of automobiles to use including the Thunderbird, which was used as the CIA agents’ cars and the Lincoln Continental which ends up destroyed. This vehicle made another prominent appearance was in the classic film “Bullitt” featuring Steve McQueen. The shining star was a 1968 Mustang GT which stole the scene with an adrenaline pumping high speed chase. Two Mustang GT’s and two Dodge Chargers were used in the infamous shot. One of the auto’s most recent impressive appearances is in the massive blockbuster hit “I Am Legend”. In this flick Will Smith plays one of the last people left in the world and there are many shots of him cruising around an abandoned New York City in a shiny red pony car. The Expedition and Escape also made appearances in the flick. The 2010 Mustang is affordable with a base cost of around the $21k range and can be customized with a V6 or V8 motor.
Ford is one of the most popular automaker in the States and as a result it should be no surprise that its cars have made frequent appearances on the big screen. Ford vehicles are built in America, built tough and most of all practical and attainable for the average consumer. Expect to see much more of Ford in the movies!…Continue reading
